if i became incapacitated, i think all decisions would pass to my jw parents (i'm not married).
Hubby (A JW) had one and we gave them several copies when he was Ill.
The Dr kept losing it. He would shove it in the back of the file.( They only look at the top page of your file usually)
The Hospital had to be reminded several times that he did not take blood.
You almost have to hang it on your bed post!!!

yep, that's right, she had her maiden flight this morning... it was beautiful!.
after one bum takeoff attempt (i had one of the servos reversed... hehe), i fixed the problem and tried again.. i increased throttle a little, she slowly taxied forward, a little more power bit by bit, and there she went... up into the air, gliding beautifully.
it was amazing watching this thing i had built from little bits of foam and glue take to the sky.
Are you by Valley Park? They have a RC club that flys there. You can usually see the planes flying from the highway.Hubby's club was in Illinois.

I found one picture with hubby and my son.I haven't looked at that site since before he died..They used to have a picture of his Bi wing (Two wings) he built but it looks like they replaced a few pictures.Look at Events and past Events and Pictures..shows some of the members planes.

Hubby was really in to it. Used all kinds of epoxy glue and covering they had to shrink with a special iron.
We had Balsa wood all over the tables.
It's really special to be able to keep them in the air. I saw many land in the cornfields..
They would usually spend at least 2 or 3 thousand on one airplane and with the motor and equipment it would run 5 to 8 thousand and more.

My hubby and son used to build and fly RC airplanes..(and a few boats..) they were in Midwest flying club..and a few others.He also reversed servos a few times..
Do you belong to a club? The sizes fo by Quarter scale etc. Still have a lot of equipment in the basement waiting for my son to build a garage to keep it in. My hubby passed away 2 years ago but every Sunday the "Guys" would meet here and talk about airplanes and eat and go down to the "Workshop" in the basement. He would take orders and build for some of the other guys.
We had giant airplanes and parts hanging all over the basement! And a lot of movies of them flying and competitions .A few awards..Even had a few pictures in the RC Modeler magazines..

Watch that glue and other stuff you work with..hubby worked in the basement and ended up with lung cancer...never smoked..It was either that or working in concrete for 40 years..But be sure it is very well ventilated where you work on them.

the wife and i just got back from the kingdom hall this afternoon.
some of you may recall that said we would be going back today for a memorial of a close friend of the family.
so i thought i would share the experience.. i have to start out by saying just getting ready to go was interesting.
You know the witnesses preach that the day of one's death is more important than the day of their birth. You would think they would make a big hoop do loo at the funeral or memorial for that person. Not so. It's almost like they don't even recognize the dead person or the relatives of the deceased. Then they rushed us out to make way for another meeting. They are so cheap they can't even have a second hall..they have to share with 2 or 3 congregations..and NO accessories!..Wouldn't want any distractions for the "Cult Members"..
I tell you..someone is getting rich off the "Cult Members"..I wonder who?...
When hubby died I arranged for him to have a memorial at the KH he went to before he got sick.Very few showed up and very little was said about him other than..he always had a smile for everyone!..What a way to be remembered.
I left feeling so empty. When my Mom and Dad died they wanted imformation on the family etc.(Not JW's) It was really nice and I left feeling like I had some kind of closure. With hubby I came out feeling very angry!

(not sexual)we ran into an old friend that we first met when he was not a practicing dub about 10 years ago.we used to go out to dinner all the time and both his wife and mine got along well.he was a former ms and while i didnt know that he had a background with the org at the time i was all the time talking about our need for a purpose in life.. i thought i would influence him in the truth and show him the way to salvation even though i was at the time way far from the society's acceptable persona of good standing..well,after a night of many crown royals and crab legs and prime rib and pasta bar he told me that he used to be an ms.. he was very shy to admit this as his lifestyle was not befitting a christian.for some reason or another we drifted apart and lost touch.in the meantime a couple years passed, well more than a couple maybe 10 and last years district convention,guess who we saw?yep my buddy sitting 2 rows across from us.. let me give you some background,i was raised a dub and went crazy at 16 before being baptised.ive never been baptised.i had always believed though, and had never went to college.i put in full time hours though never was recognised at all as you know.. some of you may know that there was a few years lapse there and then we found out the truth about the truth.without telling the whole story i would like to skip to this week.my friend is a home improvement salesperson the same as i am.we first saw him going out the door where the smokers hang out.we hadnt seen him in a while so we called out to him.he told us right away that he was back in.i took a looooong pause and said that i had done a lot of research since i had last seen him.. he said (thats great, so when are you getting baptised?
)my wife was with me and she just looked at me like,this ones yours.well i brought up a few points about the usual un thing the flip flop and the fds.then he just walked away and shook his head.this was so abrupt it was uncomfortable.my wife and i went back to our respective booths in the homeshow and just thought to ourselves(he is blinded).. on the very next break my wife had,she walked towards my booth and just happend to passs him againl.he grabbed her and said i know your husband feels that way,but do you?you know that right now you have to make a choice.. to make a long story short,my wife who has never been a dub and has no problem with the truth told him that she is the one who showed me the truth about the truth and started to speak of the need for truth in speech and the consistancy in beliefs.needless to say he spoke of ,either you have gods spirit or not.. we both tried to reason with him however it was clear he was brainwashed to the point of unreasonablness.. .

I am in North County. Been out of "The Truth" for many years now.I still have In laws that are J.W.'s and believe it with their whole heart.
My hubby was a JW and died with a guilty conscience. (Long story)I no longer have any contact with the JW religion. I know too much about them to ever go back. I did a lot of research about their origin and I wasn't happy with the results. I also saw the social behaviour in the religion and it disgusted me.I was a JW for 13 years and never was taught the origin. It wasn't until I had been out a while and logged on to the X JW boards that I found out where to look in their own literature to find the many changes that took place in their beliefs over the years. I was really surprised.
I have 3 grown children and none stayed in the religion.
That book should be "R" rated . No kids allowed to look at the pictures!
Believe it or not they still have nightmares about the "Paradise book".

I was under the impression they hired outsiders to do the printing a few years ago. I had JW relatives that lived by the Watchtower farm that told me that.
So they will save some money? Could be the motive. More pocket change for the "Bigwigs" no doubt.

there is an old jw person i love, who may undergo heart surgery, i told him about hemopure.
so i need help from you, where can i get information about it?...

I'm pretty sure this is the one that was allowed by the JW's here. If it is the same..it builds up the blood (Or supposed to) after a blood loss or when a disease ravages the body.
My JW FIL had the shot when he had bone cancer.
Medicare would not pay for it and it was about $1,000. a shot!..Medicare did eventually kick in and cover some of it.
They quit after 3 shots..it wasn't doing him any good.
They seem to have a lot of options when undergoing surgery tho. I had to read all that when hubby was so sick. The chemo was wiping him out.
They have a machine that runs your own blood thru a machine and then puts it back in to prevent blood loss during surgery.It's similar to a dialysis machine.Autologous Divert Machine.
Hemo Dialysis-induced Hemo dialisis and Autologous "Divert".. but not Autologous (Your own stored blood)
The divert takes your own blood through a machine and returns it unstopped to your body.If the tube becomes disconnected for any reason..they have to stop.. Yep. You die!
They have a special hospital here in St Louis that caters to JW's..they perform open heart surgery without blood.
I hope your friend reads up on all the info. I had to do it for hubby and then explain it to my JW MIL..and she's been a witness since the 1940'sI hope all goes well for your friend..JW or not.
